Alison Walker

Alison has a passion for business and is the consummate entrepreneur.

After studying at university, Alison trained in hotel and catering management starting as a chef, and through career progression, managed several bars, night clubs and hotels.  Becoming the area manager for a hospitality management company she also established a wholesale distribution company of liquor and soft drinks to licensed premises. Using the valuable skills she learned, Alison started her first business; a cafe and outside catering company.

Building a business from scratch was an amazing, challenging and successful experience and after selling it she took on a complete career change and trained as an accountant. Setting up an accounting services company she engaged with clients within a diverse range: retail, food and beverage, hospitality, tourism, automotive, horticulture, publishing, marketing, public relations, recruitment, hairdressing, childcare, joinery and even a rare species pet shop.

Selling the accounting company Alison returned to hospitality, purchasing an accommodation business in Wanaka. After three years, she sold the lodge and moved to Christchurch.
