Shaun is a 45 year old father of four and in recent years became a grandfather of Jayden, now seven Ruby, Tyrell. He claims they are both constant reminders of a family that started young and a sales career that followed. Shaun started his sales career at the age of 20 after completion of his time as a panel beater for Christchurch based Hensley and Moore. He then entered as a sales cadet for a large Christchurch car dealership. In the 17 years to follow he enjoyed success in his new chosen career making many friends and acquaintances of his clients in that time.
In 1996 Shaun chose Real Estate as a new full time career utilising his large client base of some 1680 clients from his previous career coupled with his passion for people and sales. Success was imminent. Ranking among Harcourts top agents in the first 12 months, including Harcourts Rookie Salesperson and has since ranked in the New Zealand Top 50 and 13th in Canterbury. When you talk to Shaun it won’t take long to detect he has a strong interest in people and their needs. As he says, ‘I’ve always been in the people business and not the sales business, and if you show people the same interest and passion you have for your family and friends you don’t have to sell them anything, people simply buy and sell through you’.
Since entering Real Estate Shaun has been involved in all sectors of the residential/commercial investment market. He claims every property is unique and enjoys every listing and every sale regardless of value, type or location.
Shaun has a wide range of interests outside Real Estate, including restoring and riding classic trial motorcycles. Travelling to Hanmer to spend time with family to recharge and refocus are also one of Shaun’s favorite pastimes.
Shaun was instrumental in raising money for Crossroads Youth with a future trust to purchase the depot it runs from in heartland Aranui, and has since raised the money again to buy the adjacent building to further expand the trusts programme of working with at risk youth in the Aranui area.
Shaun is also a member of the Canterbury Property Investors and has enjoyed creating a portfolio of residential and commercial investment properties over the last 20 years.
